Aspiring to raise the effectiveness of the Association activities and to offer our members more opportunities both in the local market and abroad, the supervision of the Association is working on establishing partnership between the local and foreign professional companies and enterprises.
In particular, during the half - year existence we managed to conclude several treaties with the companies and organizations mentioned below.
Russian Marketing Association
At the beginning of 2003 the AMA had several negotiations with the Russian Marketing Association that resulted in a partnership agreement between the Armenian Marketing Association and Russian Marketing Association.
The leading Russian corporations, banks, universities and consulting companies founded the non-commercial organization RUSSIAN MARKETING ASSOCIATION (RMA) in Moscow in February 1995. The RMA comprises 126 full corporate members representing 40 Russian regions. The main purpose of the Association is coordination of marketing activities on national and international levels with the following objectives: to develop the marketing environment by using marketing tools in Russia; to provide assistance to Russian companies and organizations in increasing production and sale of goods & services, in arranging investments, so that they can survive in the competitive market environment.
The Russian Marketing Association is the official consultant of the Russian Government in such macro-marketing spheres as:
- Privatization problems (RF State Committee for Management of State Property (GKI), now Ministry of Property Relations of the Russian Federation)
- Problems of the stock market development (the Federal Securities and Stock Market Commission)
- Problems of the small business development (RF State Committee on Small Business Support)
- Macro-level forecasting (Ministry of Trade and Economical development of the Russian Federation)
- Problems of financing of regional budget deficits (regional administrations of Russia).
The Association creates a branch network basing on:
- Regional concentration of demand for marketing services on behalf of commodity producers, financial & labor market operators
- Possibilities of local consulting companies to meet this demand
- Close contacts with regional public authorities
- Offers from regional and republican administrations on cooperation and creating branches
- Cooperation on education & training, holding seminars, exchange of specialists.
DAI
The ASME project was launched on September 15, 2000, and it will continue till August, 2004. This effort is funded by the US Government’s Agency for International Development (USAID). Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI) implements ASME, a private consulting firm based in Bethesda, Maryland, USA.
The Armenia Agribusiness SME Market Development Project (ASME) is designed to increase market opportunities for private Armenian agribusiness. In order to achieve that goal, the ASME will identify locations where existing and new agribusiness products can be sold, and will develop strategies by which Armenian companies can take an advantage. The ASME will review and address constraints that interfere with the ability of Armenian firms to achieve growth in these markets, and will design and take measures to alleviate those constraints. The ASME Project will assist Armenian agribusiness in expanding its markets and entering into new markets by providing a package of services that include:
- Market surveys and market analysis in the Caucasus Region, Russia, Ukraine, Gulf States, Europe, Middle East, and the United States to identify locations where Armenian products can be sold competitively
- Technical assistance to agribusiness firms to assist them with market identification, new product development, and productivity improvement to enhance competitiveness
- Assistance in obtaining financing to achieve the necessary productivity improvements
- Assist the agribusiness community to identify and address those issues that impede and constrain a business ability to operate in a transparent, competitive and legal way
- Assistance to business support organizations and business associations to improve their ability to provide services to Armenian companies on a sustainable basis.

CYSCA ( Cambridge-Yerevan Sister City Association)
Cambridge-Yerevan Sister City Association, Inc. (CYSCA) was the brain-child of a group of concerned citizens of Cambridge, MA, who believed they could help to promote the world peace by organizing grass roots movement through a partnership with a city in the Soviet Republic.
In May 1986, the former Mayor and then City Councilor Frank Duehay led a mission of eleven Cambridge citizens to Yerevan, the capital of the Republic of Armenia, to present a formal proposal to the Mayor of Yerevan expressing the desire of the city of Cambridge to become a sister city with Yerevan.
A formal agreement was executed between the two sister cities in 1987 during the official visit of the Yerevan delegation to Cambridge.
Soon CYSCA joined Sister Cities International (SCI), an umbrella organization that supports over 1000 US sister cities and their foreign partners. Through its association with SCI, CYSCA has obtained funding support for many of its important projects.
The main goals of CYSCA are:
to foster friendship, mutual trust and dynamic interaction between the people of Yerevan and Cambridge as well as their neighboring regions; to build links between them, to promote the public awareness of issues of mutual concern; and to appreciate and accommodate the various manifestations of diversity in these communities.
PR in Russia
This is a professional magazine about Public Relations, where you can find a number of PR methods and actions to form a well-disposed opinion about your organization. The international experience is also presented common for to Russia as well, which is close to the actuality of Armenia as the former USSR countries have common properties. Specific examples are brought about the realized pre-election campaigns, and the actions and responsibilities of basic departments and experts are presented. The magazine will help to organize efficient pre-election campaign even having limited human and financial resources.
Marketolog
“Marketolog” is considered to be a professional magazine about marketing sphere intended for the managers, directors and experts of the marketing departments. There are a lot of articles in the magazine about the modern technologies and methods of marketing researches. You can find specific examples based on the conducted researches as well as the international theory and practice of marketing researches used by American and Russian experts. The efficient methods of distribution network and advertising campaign and the methods connected with design and selling as well are presented in the magazine.
Russian Food & Drinks Market
The magazine is published in St. Petersburg and it is considered to be the biggest informational-analytic magazine about Food Market of CIS countries. The magazine contains any information about the food market of Russia, its regions and CIS countries. “Russian Food & Drinks Market” is the co - organizer of 50 greatest exhibitions and fairs held in Russia and Europe. There are analytical articles and marketing researches about the developments, equipments and qualitative criteria referring to every sphere of food market. The articles are in two languages (Russian and English) and are of high publishing quality.
SME DNC
The fund “Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Centre of Armenia” is a non profit Quasi Governmental organization established on March 2002.
The SME DNC of Armenia is authorized to implement state policy directed to the development of SME sphere in Armenia.
It should be mentioned that from now on the SME DNC will cooperate with the Armenian Marketing Association. The Association will provide management and marketing consultation, as well as develop investment projects. |
